Visitors to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay can get an insight into medical procedures and the treatment of injured animals at the Animal Care Centre. In addition, special behind-the-scenes tours provide guests with first-hand information and knowledge by the keepers of the parks various animals. Participants of the tours can even witness some private training or feeding sessions and more! It will soon be time for our frightful Halloween event «Howl-O-Scream» with its haunted houses, scare zones and sinister shows. «Iron Gwazi», the fastest hybrid coaster in the world, can be ridden under special circumstances – namely in the dark.

    Howl-O-Scream Tampa’s Premier Halloween Event!

Our Halloween event «Howl-O-Scream» will bring fear and terror to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay from September 9th to October 31st. Scare zones and gloomy shows create an eerie atmosphere. In addition, the park’s haunted houses like „The Forgotten», «Witch of the Woods», «The Residence: Home for the Holidays» and several more can be visited if you dare! During the event, roller coaster enthusiasts can enjoy the coasters at night – in a completely new dark setting

Iron Gwazi – the fastest and steepest hybrid coaster in the world

One coaster that invites you to take a dark ride during «Howl-O-Scream» is «Iron Gwazi«, which has been attracting brave guests since its opening earlier this year. The former wooden roller-coaster “Gwazi” was modernized with metal constructions and relaunched as the fastest and steepest hybrid coaster in the world. A highlight is the 91-degree drop, which accelerates passengers on the 1.2-Kilometre-long track to a top speed of up to 122 kilometers per hour.

    Behind-the-Scenes at Busch Gardens

For guests wishing to learn more about the park and the different animal species, Busch Gardens offers special tours. Interested guests accompany the keepers as they care for the animals, look behind the scenes and watch feedings and training sessions. Elephants, sloths, penguins, orangutans, gorillas, cheetahs, or hippos – there is a suitable tour for (almost) every animal lover.

Animal care up close at the Animal Care Center

The Animal Care Center is the ideal place to witness the medical care of park residents up close. The state-of-the-art facility is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Guests can watch feedings, the treatment of injuries, X-rays and even surgeries. The Animal Care Center is also part of the Emmy-nominated television series «The Wildlife Docs®», which gives viewers insight into the work of zoology experts – including doctors and trainers from Busch Gardens Tampa.
