On September 22nd, a new high-speed train was inaugurated in Florida. Brightline runs between Orlando International Airport and Miami further south.
This new line is the very first train that connects Orlando International Airport with South Florida. Among the stops, you’ll find West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and Miami.
The intercity line called Brightline is currently the only modern, environmentally friendly high-speed train in the USA. It has been running between Miami and West Palm Beach since 2018.
– By opening Orlando, we achieve our central business goal. We have been met with incredible enthusiasm from both the business world and the tourism industry, which are very interested in traveling between central and South Florida, says Brightline’s vice president Patrick Goddard in a press release.
Florida, led by Miami, has long been a favorite destination for Swedes. Besides rental cars, tourists have previously had buses as a public transportation option. A journey that has taken over five and a half hours. Brightline’s train line, on the other hand, takes three and a half hours between the two endpoints, significantly facilitating travel between the two hubs – and making it more environmentally friendly.
Onboard, there are two classes to choose from. «Smart» is a variant of business class that offers free Wi-Fi and the opportunity to buy food and drinks. «Premium» is described as a first-class experience with additional amenities, including lounge access, priority boarding, checked baggage, as well as free drinks and snacks during the journey.
Tickets are already on sale.
