Unveiled last month at IPW, our new NYC Travel Trade Academy empowers travel advisors and other travel trade professionals to learn about New York City as a top-tier leisure destination. Members of the trade can take the six-module course, featuring fascinating information about the City as a whole and specifics on each borough, to become New York City Destination Specialists. For more information and to begin the training, please visit this link.
We also launched our new website, NYCtourism.com, on June 27. This digital offering is creatively aligned with the organization-wide rebrand that we rolled out in March, and it provides a beautiful and streamlined user experience across both B2C and B2B channels, hosting inspirational content pieces to motivate your clients to choose NYC.
In important New York City Tourism + Conventions staff news, Rob Beckham, formerly on our Membership team, has joined the Tourism Development team as Senior Vice President for Europe. SVP Reginald Charlot will continue to manage Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the US, Luxury and LGBTQ+ markets, and SVP Makiko Matsuda Healy manages Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa markets. To reach out to our team, visit nyctourism.com.
It’s been a special month in NYC. The five boroughs have just wrapped the annual Pride festivities; we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, birthed right here in the Bronx; and we are spoiled for choice when it comes to NYC’s wealth of summer events and activities.
